Review of The Last Waltz (1978) by Robert B — 29 May 2008
One of, if not the best concert films ever done. This works because it serves the die-hards well, but can also be an effective introduction to the Band as well. All of the Band's great songs be found here, and the performance of "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" is just amazing.
Kind of wish the original performance of The Weight was intact. The whole slew of guest stars adds considerably to the film, especially Ronnie Hawkins who is simply out of control in his appearace.
