Review of The Last Waltz (1978) by Steve S — 09 Jul 2012
Historic documentary of the final performance of the venerated country rock powerhouse that was The Band. Also a phenomenal showcase of some of the greatest singer songwriters of the sixties and seventies.
Scorsese doesn't delve too much into the tension between Robertson and Helm and prefers to let the individual members of The Band discuss the meaning of their experiences and relationships.A fine portrait of one of the greatest rock bands ever and a stirring end to a chapter in American music history.
