Review of The Last Unicorn (1982) by Amanda K — 08 Nov 2007
Quality-wise, this is the best movie I watched as a child. When I was little, I liked the music, the colors, and the basic story. All the animals helped, too. As I got older, I realized that it is actually fraught with meaning.
A spectacular movie that is great for kids because it is thoughtful and means something. It has scary moments, and some that over-protective parents might object to, but that is what makes it unique and better than the average schlock meant for children.
Not just a kid's movie. Additionally, it is a very faithful adaptation of the book, which is equally magical.
