This movie did brilliantly to humanize Jesus-to make him a man and not a deified trinket of a sentimental religion. The scene where he is in the desert hallucinating the cobra that explodes made me laugh.
While I'm familiar with some scripture, I do understand that this is fiction but it is still encapsulating (even though the scripture is fiction to a certain degree).
