Review of The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) by Wes K — 12 Feb 2008
Long on my list of movies to see, I wasn't disappointed. I expected it to be heretical, blasphemous but instead I found myself even more inspired and reverential. Regardless of its spiritual message, the filmmaking is masterful, using long intimate takes that allow real emotion to sink in, a technique I find sorely missing in the current vogue of fast cut editing.
