Review of The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) by Sean M — 19 Apr 2008
Scorsese's "artistic disaster" fails to really fit together passionately, is so clumsy and heavy-handed in certain scenes as to be embarrassing, but it is still a great visual and audio feast.
Disturbing and downright depressing (left me feeling that staying on the Cross may not be such a wonderful thing after all...) it is well worth watching several times and the novelty of this, the most controversial film ever made, makes it a keeper for your video shelf.
Watch it at Easter and enjoy!
