Review of The Last Supper (1995) by Stacey S — 22 Mar 2009
Five graduate students living in shared house off campus sat down to a nice dinner one Sunday. When one of them unwittingly brings home a violent child killer their lives change drastically. The killer (Bill Paxton doing what he does best, playing the ass) attacks one of the students and they kill him in self defense. When covering up the killing is easy and find out that they removed a terrible person from the world, they decide to make a habit of it.
Each week they invite a new bigoted person to their home for dinner. If, when provoked in dinner conversation, they are seen as worthy of ongoing life, they get wine from the green decanter. If the group decides that the guest is less than worthy, they get the blue decanter which has poison in it. The plot progresses as the five students deal with what theyâ??ve done and continue to do.
A great black comedy, thought provoking, well acted and has a ton of star cameos for the budget.
