Review of The Last Station (2009) by Stephen S — 28 Feb 2010
Helen Mirren is beautiful and both Mirren and Plummer gave a wonderful acting performance. I was disappointed in Paul Giamatti and I think it is because his part of the story was butchered in the editing or screenplay and lost its central importance to the story in the process.
This movie is about the conflict between the countess and him - too little of that happened. What became important was the story of James McAvoy and Ann-Marie Duff, however I was left wanting to see more about that story of in the film even though I don't understand why it is part of the film.
