Review of The Last Station (2009) by Ines M — 03 Jun 2012
Well written, expertly directed and brilliantly acted, this is a treat to anyone who is remotely interested in literature and the figures behind the wonderful books. How close to reality the film is, nobody will ever know, but I appreciate the touch of human folly that runs through this depiction of Tolstoy's last year.
He may have been a literary giant, but oh so human in his dealing with day-to-day life.
