Special Effects-wise, this movie was absolutely ground-breaking in its time. Plot-wise, it captured my imagination as a kid. I still like watching it today. Pick up the DVD if you can, it has lots of great "making of" extras and commentary.
One of my favorite movies--also, it introduced "Activate Death Blossom!" into our pop cultural lexicon.
