Review of The Last Starfighter (1984) by Alex C — 03 Jun 2011
Directed by Nick (Michael 'the shape' Myers) Castle, this little sci-fi flick is obviously trying to cash in on Star Wars. However, unlike the shit load of films and TV shows that attempted to do the same, this one is a highly enjoyable and nostalgic effort that attempts to do a 'Tron' and use the CGI effects that were available at the time.
What I love is the message at the end that to me suggests that if you are good at computer games, you too can be a starfighter. Only the 80s can give that message with enjoyable results.
