Review of The Last Stand (2013) by Lee H — 28 Jun 2013
Arnie's return to 'acting' (note the inverted commas) after his 8 year stint as the Governor of California, in which he plays a sheriff of a small town on the American/Mexican border: a small town through which a notorious drug kingpin (who has just escaped from FBI custody) is racing towards in a stolen sports-car in order to make his escape through.
And boy, has Arnie got old. His acting - never his strong point - has also got pretty rusty, but at least he is still able to hold his own in the action scenes, which are vaguely reminiscent of those from his 80s hey-day. I'm still not sure why Johnny 'JackAss' Knoxville is in the movie, though, or why he gets equal star billing alongside Arnie himself!
