Review of The Last Sin Eater (2007) by Gwendy D — 26 Aug 2007
The acting was great and it had a nice moral - Christian message. I wasn't expecting the preachiness of the movie - it came as a shock and I almost turned it off. I guess I was expecting something more along the lines of "The Order" or some pagan celtic belief/ritual movie like the original "The Wicker Man" but neither was the case.
After awhile it felt like an afterschool special or a lifetime movie - but what can you expect with Michael Landon Jr as director. Good movie, well acting, directed, and shot - yes. I gave it a lower score because I felt like I was forced to endure someone cramming right-wing born-again version of Christianity down my throat.
If you like that sort of thing, you'll love the second half of this movie.
