Review of The Last Samurai (2003) by Charlie G — 26 Apr 2012
Zwick's film was the perfect balance of rage and peace, war and paradise. This beautiful story of an American war prisoner who finds peace among his captors along with the Westernization of Japan in the late 1800s and use of Japanese throughout the film helped to bring an authentic inner look at the struggle between the samurai and the Imperial Army.
I definitely recommend this film if you are up for a war story told with tremendous skill.
