Review of The Last Samurai (2003) by Marcus M — 18 May 2013
I think the reason I really love this movie is the way Cruise's character completely evolves from a drunkard has-been hero to an honorable, selfless samurai, adopted by a peaceful town of disciplined warriors who have preserved themselves from a disintegrating world.
The honor and traditions of the Samurai are beautifully captured in this movie and the action is sweeping, epic and meaningful. Couldn't love this movie any more.
