Review of The Last Samurai (2003) by Michael J — 08 Aug 2014
I'm not a fan of Tom Cruise. That being said, this movie is amazing. Those who really enjoyed the film were inspired by breathtaking landscapes, a code of honor that may not have been their own, but were able to learn and love the characters, and their way of life. Heavily romanticized, Katsumoto is the true warrior poet cliche, and Algren like myself, have come to love the japanese culture.
Beautiful movie, Excellent dialogue, Characters you truly care about, Heartache, Honor, Battle.
Give this movie a fair shot, and you won't be disappointed.
