A surprisingly moving film, which I cannot often say about a Tom Cruise film. The story alone is enough to wow this viewer with such a unique and interesting tale of soldier turned "savage" when the savages themselves are more refined then the civilized soldiers.
The score was also very well done, maintaning the ethnic feel of the tranquil village Cruise is brought to. The cinematography was well done but nothing too over the top, though this was masked by the outstanding acting.
Overal Zwick did an amazing job and produced a beautiful film with some of the best sword fighting action for the mainstream viewers, and a very deep theme and story for the critics.
