I can honestly say that the only thing I didn't like about The Last Samurai was Tom Cruise's accent. Don't get me wrong, he's a great actor, but that accent was a bit irritating. That said, The Last Samurai is a brilliant and engaging war drama. Cruise does give a top notch performance although Ken Watanabe easily steals the show here. The script and storyline are well-written and well-executed. Yes, there is a bit of a Hollywood ending but it still is a great one indeed. Of course, I can't forget about the thrilling battle sequences which were well done and extremely exhilarating to watch. Overall, this is one satisfying and thrilling epic.
