Review of The Last Samurai (2003) by Lisa L — 26 Oct 2011
A compelling story that, at times, reminded me of Dances With Wolves, and other times, Braveheart. While I absolutely loved Ken Watanabe's performance, I'm not sure I would have cast Tom Cruise as Nathan Algren.
He delivered a fine performance, but was a bit too 'Hollywood.' Beautiful costumes and scenery and well executed battle scenes.
