Review of The Last Samurai (2003) by Cameron J — 20 Feb 2011
A great depiction of the Satsuma Rebellion which in my opinion was worthy of an Oscar if it wasn't for the mediocre lead by Tom Cruise. It's slow paced which warms you too the characters whilst keeping you entertained with a legacy being stamped upon it throughout.
I feel it loses its purpose in the third quarter of the movie but then redeems itself in the last battle scene in which see's Katsumoto kill himself in a powerful final stance.
