Review of The Last Samurai (2003) by Robyn M — 27 Aug 2012
A romantic view of honour and war. Its characters are well developed and the scenes and cinematography are beautiful. Giving you a taste of the coming of the times, as the old is being swept up by the new and how war changes you.
There are some amazing set pieces in this but where it falls short is in its romanticism but in the end the actors did well in bringing emotion and gravitas to the parts which then draws you in to the end.
