Review of The Last Picture Show (1971) by Melissa D — 12 Jul 2008
This movie is the very definition of "coming of age" films. The story centers around two high school seniors in a small Texas town in the 1950s. It is a dramatic character study, not only of the young people, but of the town itself.
One note of critique: the story sometimes jumps ahead, leaving the viewer guessing about what has happened off-camera.
