Review of The Last Picture Show (1971) by Adam C — 08 Sep 2008
One of my favorite films. Maybe one of the best films ever made? In technical terms, the decision to film this in B&W helps create the depth of field that Peter Bogdanovich was hoping to create. And there are some beautiful scenes shot in this film.
Plus, some of the quick cuts done in transition (the fight scene between Sonny and Duane), add an effect that leaves one with the notion that action is happening faster than it is.
