Review of The Last Picture Show (1971) by Skyler W — 17 May 2009
'The Last Picture Show' is such an amazing film! I had seen only bits and pieces of it and loved what I had seen, but after seeing the whole film, it is clear that the entire film is excellent.
There is just something about the tone of the film that is heartbreaking and painfully beautiful. There is just something about the personal journeys of these Texan teens that really hits me. Cybil Shepherd is stunning in 'The Last Picture Show' and in this film, she is the most beautiful women I've even seen.
If you just check this film out for her I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the entire thing. A shame this didn't win Best Picture.
