Review of The Last Picture Show (1971) by Kim B — 24 Sep 2010
Great acting and wonderful script and directing. I was worried b/c it was in black and white, but it really should be that way. Another great film about smalltown USA, but prob the best I've ever seen.
You fall in love with the characters and feel for them and the town. You feel like you live in the town and can feel the emotions of the characters. The music was well picked and natural. The movie is kind of like a soap opera, with a lot of different romances going on; but it isn't corny/ridiculous at all and is very interesting.
It's very depressing, but has a lot of good performances.
