Review of The Last Picture Show (1971) by Luc L — 20 May 2011
A talented, eclectic ensemble made up the cast in Peter Bogdanovich's 1971 film, that was set in and paid homage to the 50's. Although the young cast members were fantastic, it was the veteran cast members - in particular the outstanding Ben Johnson- who provided the heart and soul to this brilliant, affecting coming of age tale, that tells of relations between the youths and their elder's that inhabit small texas community.
Raw, touching, beautiful and even poetic. 70's cinema gold.
