Review of The Last of the Mohicans (1992) by Chris Z — 08 Oct 2010
Blu-ray refresh of a classic. Michal Mann directs, as masterful with music as ever, and Dante Spinotti at the helm of some pretty impressive cinematography all with natural lighting (which makes the film very dim and dark/unevenly lit in many scenes).
White man goes native to get the white girl who's all turned on by his savage native-ness while all the actual Indians get killed or die trying to get their own white girls. And all that stuff. Still, a classic film, at least it's not dances with wolves.
