The biggest surprise when watching the Last of the Mohicans came when I found out it was released in 1992. I thought this film came around the same time as The Patriot with Mel Gibson. The film is strongly produced with a neat and tight cinematography and wonderful music.
The story involves a Mohican father, his blood son and his adopted â??whiteâ?? son in the midst of chaos during the French and Indian War. They are tangled up in the conflict after saving two daughters from a Major Monro and reluctantly escort them to Fort William Henry.
There, revelations are discovered that soon becomes a race against time and humanity. Last of the Mohicans is pretty good flick that was adapted from a novel by James Fenimore Cooper. I wonder if it was loosely based, but there are certain facts that still remain including the scenes with massacre/battle.
Speaking of that, I was puzzled by the violence and thought the film was edited by fifty percent, but I guess it is because it was 1992.
