Review of The Last of the Mohicans (1992) by Benjamin N — 01 Dec 2011
I'm a little surprised this has so high a rating. There are too many dark scenes (in terms of lighting) and, in the final scene, the impact and sadness of Chingachgook being "the last of the mohicans" is quickly overshadowed by Daniel Day Lewis and his girl's love.
What's more important here? The romance or THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS? obviously this rating doesn't come from nowhere though, the film's got some great cinematography (despite the abundance of darkly lit scenes), stellar acting, and a captivating story till the end.
