The critics obviously have a high opinion of this movie, but that doesn't make it completely good. I am impressed that the film-makers tried their best to make an appealing piece, but I just didn't feel for it.
Yes, the acting was really good, but I don't find the characters very appealing, though Daniel-Day Lewis' character is played quite well. The film also looks really good, but the drama doesn't really suck me in.
Overall, I can see why critics would like it, but I don't have the kind of pretension that they do, and I think it's a pretty overrated movie, with a setting I don't really care about.
