Review of The Last Mimzy (2007) by Sarah G — 05 Feb 2009
I generally like sci-fi obscure time travel and kids as heroes saving the world but this movie lacked character. I think the biggest problems were the acting of the kids who are the central characters and who I was continually annoyed with as well as the lack of explanation the story gives for the relationships and actions of the people and even the sci-fi craziness.
Like what was the point of the super powers? What was the point of the mandalas? ...besides bringing in Wilson's and Hahn's characters who provided nothing to the story except comic relief. And I think the FBI provided plenty of comedy.
The general storyline was interesting but they failed to convey it well in the movie.
