Review of The Last Legion (2007) by Koca L — 14 May 2009
I was very interested to see how Colin Firth and Aishwarya Rai would be in an action movie. And this is a strange action movie. It is an action movie where it doesn?t really seem like the action is very exciting. It was kind of TV show like. There wasn?t much suspense to it and the look of the movie seems like they didn?t have enough money for either good sets of good CG. What makes this movie decent enough to watch are the great performances by Firth and Rai. They still don?t seem to fit in but it works. Except for her action sequences. I know she?s a dancer, so why couldn?t they let her put together 2 moves before a cut ? I?m sure she could do it. But one of the extras on the DVD was the stunt woman who just kicks major ass. Her and Zoe Bell should make a movie together as pro and ant.
And Ben Kingsley gets to ham it in this movie, which may have meant to be serious but is actually good comic relief. Again, he?s the british Christopher Walken.
