Review of The Last Kiss (2006) by Brandon C — 17 Apr 2009
Zach Braff is just like Michael Cera in that he can never seem to play a character that isn't almost exactly like himself. The story is pretty well-worn territory (guy cheats, girl finds out, guy begs for forgiveness, etc.
), but this movie seems to up the ante a bit. In my opinion, the subplot about Affleck leaving his wife is much more interesting and probably should have played a bigger part. There's a little more gravity to the situations in this film and you get the sense that there are very real consequences to the character's mistakes.
