Review of The Last Kiss (2006) by Benjamin M — 18 Feb 2010
Has everyone in the world lost their moral compass? That's what I was asking myself upon seeing this movie. With the exception of Jenna and her dad, all of the characters lack moral fibre as they consistently fail to make good decisions.
For this I felt, the film's depiction of reality is a little of kilter. Why should we have sympathy for or care to like any of these characters? It's only because we see JD from Scrubs intertextualised into Zach Braff's character that we actually like him enough to hope that things work out.
In looking at the good points, the story flows as it needs and the acting hits the mark in a big way.
