Review of The Last King of Scotland (2006) by Mark D — 16 Jul 2009
Fairly enjoyed it but too much of that documentarian style for my liking. A couple of other annoyances such as Gillian Anderson being continually credited within this film with which she appears in for a full 5-10 mins.
However the obvious star of the show is Whitaker and deserved all the praise he received. As for McAvoy(who is basically a carbon copy of Ewan McGregor in my eyes) pales in comparrison to Whitaker, to the extent of being nominated as best supporting actor at some awards and whilst being the so called subject matter with the majority of screen time.
Anyhow its worth a watch, particuarly some of the gore which is worthy of any decent horror flick.
