Review of The Last King of Scotland (2006) by John P — 16 Aug 2011
It's a phenomenal character piece, using the fantastic acting of Forest Whittaker and James McAvoy to paint a picture of a man with a murderous blood-lust and mind of a child try and run a country, and the doctor who gets roped in only to try and escape.
It's not entirely historically accurate (there never was a Scottish doctor named Carrigan under Idi Amin), but it takes liberties in a way that makes it interesting and captivating to watch.
