Review of The Last King of Scotland (2006) by Matthew T — 14 Apr 2013
This historical fiction drama tells the tale of Idi Amin, the former President of Uganda who became increasingly ruthless and erratic during his tenure, and a fictional Scottish doctor of the African Leader, based on several different real life figures, like his real British advisor.
The film has some great performances, particularly Whitaker who is excellent as Amin (definitely earned the Oscar), with McAvoy giving a solid performance as the Doctor. Good film.
