Another pointless post-2000 undate of a 70's horror film. Compared to the original this is big budget, slick mainstream Hollywood looking for a guaranteed cash cow. By remaking this within the confines of the studio system, the film makers have removed the films edge, yes the crime, the rape of one girl and the murder of another is shocking, but with todays media sensationalization of every crime committed and the films that followed in the wake of the original, this doesn't have much to say and is all the more redundant for it.
