Review of The Last House on the Left (1972) by Ethan A — 04 Jan 2009
Very difficult movie to watch due to the violence. 2 girls try to score a little weed on the way to a rock concert and get scooped by some psychos who rape and torture them for a few days before killing them. These same killers car breaks down right in front of the house of where one of the girls lived with her parents. The parents discover what happened and take their revenge.
It's well acted, the girls sell the abuse with all their hearts and it's not enjoyable to watch. The psychos are bad through and through but at the same time disgusted by their own actions. The parents take their vengeance seriously but at the end look defeated more than anything as they sink to the level of the killers. This movie is very effective but it isn't fun. 3 stars because it IS so effective.
