Review of The Last House on the Left (1972) by Heather M — 02 Mar 2009
I miss the days of original horror films. What this film fails to do is scare the viewer. However, it succeeds at making them feel sick to their stomach - and that's the point. The violence and torture is brutal, horrifying, but not excessive or used for nothing more than shock value.
It only solidifies the antagonists as truly merciless, and makes justification of vengeance even more appealing. A must-see horror classic for those who can stomach it.
