Review of The Last House on the Left (1972) by Jack G — 13 Mar 2009
Meh. Very meh. I understand Craven's intent to shock, but it's also pretty gorram boring at times. The acting sucks too much to even mark it as entertainingly bad, but I guess I can see why it has its fanbase.
Watch the Virgin Spring instead and get the same story told with actual soul and conviction- not an adolescent trying to shock in the guist of "it's a VIETNAM WAR PARABLE!" ugh. whatever.
it's not a failure, it's just.... there.
