Yes, this movie is a painful experience in the good sense, and bad sense. The final 'battle' scene is so hysterical I forgot I was watching a horror movie. But, to give it some credit this movie really showed the brutality of its main cinematic idea.
Overall I think, yes I actually think that this is a lesser version of the newer updated film, sorry to say. I dont think this one had as much as a "punch" as the revised version, I havnt seen the 60's version, so maybe that one overcomes both.
