Wes Craven's last house is one of the most disturbing films i've ever seen.
The new version did an admirable job, thanks to Garret Dillahunt as psychopathic rapist killer dad, but everything should have been scraped as soon as they got to the parent's house.
Yes, it was nice to see some critical care in-home medicine. otherwise, it was a waste of time.
The most disturbing scene in the remake, as in Wes Craven's original, was the shooting in the lake [of course the rape and stabbing, as well], so why dumb it down? were these gags allowed just to make us feel more comfortable?
