Review of The Last House on the Left (1972) by Eric K — 24 Dec 2010
This film isn't necessarily great, but it deserves credit for inspiring an entire generation of horror films. This is the film that put Wes Craven on the map. It is different from most of his later "Nightmare on elm street" slasher flicks.
This film is gritty, raw, and brutal, and surprisingly sparse in suspense. It is impossible to rate such a trendsetting film poorly. Watch on an empty stomach. :).
