Review of The Last House on the Left (1972) by Aaron W — 24 Nov 2011
Straw Dogs it ain't. Weird music ruins the atmosphere as do the daft cop scenes. If those were excised, the editing tightened up, and the sound re-recorded properly, it could have retained the power it clearly once had, but now it often looks like a badly shot, semi-serious piece infused with lapses into completely un-funny comedy.
A waste of good violence (and the violence is shocking).
