Review of The Last House on the Left (1972) by Mark N — 11 May 2012
Uncompromisingly violent and grimy early effort from those who would give us the biggest horror films of the next 3 decades. The acting is pretty bad all around as inexperienced performers take exploitation cinema into the beginnings of slasher film-making.
A film for those who enjoy horror film history only I would say. It's the ideas and the shaky execution that is far more interesting than the actual story.
