Review of The Last House on the Left (1972) by Colm G — 24 Apr 2011
A creepy yet sometimes comical film. If you watch this you can tell it's a Wes Craven film.
I watched the cut version where some scenes like the rape scenes were cut out, so I can't tell if it would have been any better or any worse.
Anyway I actually thought the story was really good, and not over the top at all. The acting was above average for most of the cast, while other members of the cast were slightly over reactive.
This film although some moments are really sick this film is actually quite comical too, like most of Wes Craven films. Take the police officers sitting on the truck top, I laughed so hard at this scene. So don't expect it all to be doom and gloom.
I think all Wes Craven fans will appreciate this film, but if you don't like gore or you're scream you won;t like this film.
