Review of The Last House on the Left (1972) by Maxwell D — 28 Apr 2009
The first time I saw this movie, not only did I want to watch it again, I wanted to go out and buy it. This is a disturbing movie that will keep you at the edge of your seat. If you are one to like a suspenseful thriller with a realistic plot, this movie is for you..
Dennis Lliadis?s film is about two teenage girls who get kidnapped by a family of drug infested, rapping, felons. I liked how Lliadis made all the characters moods very evident. For example, when the son of the family witnesses his father kill one of the two teenage girls, you could see that he was different from the rest of his family. I felt as if I could feel his emotions. As well as the obvious moods, the plot itself is excellent. Towards the end, the plot has a twist which kept my attention. On the other hand, the ending of the movie was very cheesy and I did not like it. I felt like there should have been more to the ending..
Overall, the movie was excellent. The positives are endless and make up for the weak parts. I would rate the movie 5 stars. It is a must see!.
