Review of The Last House on the Left (1972) by Gordon T — 04 Jul 2011
Wes Craven's debut horror is not intelligent. It's a film that exists to affirm the dehumanization of everything that is sane when insanity is introduced. Credit where credit is due, that's what's being said, but what we ultimately see is the degradation of everything we recognize as acceptable.
It's vile, ugly, and consistently upsetting.
