The Last Exorcism II was a relatively unique take on the old exorcism movie narrative (girl is possessed, priest exorcises demon, someone sacrifices themselves). There is a definite element of Paradise Lost, as the "evil" demon in the end is almost the most relatable character; whether this was on purpose, however, is debatable.
